Tzu Chi Teenage Class January

hahaha......first day in class, knows no one.....

Today, the first day of the class, we arrives at the Tzu Chi foundation at 8:30, well, late for a bit... When we got there, we sit into our groups. i am in group 7, with three group mother and 8 or 9 group member. so, we introduced ourself... blah blah blah... Later, we learn to sing the ci shao hui ge, some thing about " we are the pu sa of tzu chi, we are compassionate and we have the courage to face anything with.... "forgot liao... anyway, then we have our breakfast... Finally its the time for real lesson, so we go into lines, fang zhang, and walk to the first floor, greet the Buddha, then sit down.

from the start, we are told about the thing that has been on the paper all the while-tsunami. we learn about how the Tzu Chi Foundation has been doing to help the people. what i found different of what the foundation is doing from what the other charity society is doing is that, Tzu Chi dont just help the people physically, but mentally as well. Many of the affected people has lost their family members, and they dont just need the foods and things, but more of the courage to live on. Tzu Chi also plans to build "Love Houses" for the people. the govenment is also helping the people by giving the building water and electricity free of charge. Watching the video, looking at how this love from the whole world spread to the south Asia, i feel very happy, for it seems like the whole world is pulled together by this dissaster. I also learn from the Newsweek article that because of this Tsunami, the Tamil Tiger and the Colombo government in Sri Lanka actually comes together to help the people... from my heart, i really think that dissaster is better then war, for war splits the people and dissaser glues the people together. Later, all of us get a candle in hand, and pass the fire to one another until all candles are lighted up. In the sound of silence, we pray for the victims and hope that this world will have no dissaster, including war.

After this, some 6 ci shao come up to the front and share their experiences in the journey back to Taiwan Tzu Chi Foundation base for the new year wishes, and their experience in doing recycling and helping out in the Tzu Chi Hospital in Taiwan. oh i am so jealous!

well, today i learn alot about the Tsunami aftermath, and how the Tzu Chi foundation reach out a helping hand to the affected country. I really look forward to the next lesson on the forth sunday of Feb...
